  • The recovery is now undeniable, and GDP should continue to rise in most countries

  • The unprecedented monetary and fiscal policies have largely contributed to the calm spell, but have not yet allayed all fears

  • Once the revival strategies and quantitative monetary policies have come to an end, low levels of demand will pose an obstacle to future growth

  • Volatility, falls in growth potential, bank clean-up operations, instability of raw-material markets and deflation may all resurface in 2010-2011

  • Fiscal authorities will be locked in a fierce battle with central bankers
